Grant Street Group, a leading provider of comprehensive e-payment solutions for government agencies, has been awarded a contract to provide its PaymentExpress software to modernize e-payment services for the Hawai’i County Department of Finance and Vehicle Registration and Licensing Division (VRL). PaymentExpress will provide the County full-scale payment processing capabilities, fully integrated in real-time with the County’s cashiering system. Payment options include credit card, debit card, and digital wallet payments, enabling residents a secure and seamless payment experience.

Serving over 200,000 residents across the captivating “Big Island,” the Hawai’i County Department of Finance will become the first county in Hawaii to leverage the benefits of PaymentExpress. The County selected PaymentExpress following a thorough competitive procurement process.

Currently, in-person VRL payments are limited to cash or check only. Once implementation is complete, residents can make card payments in person at six VRL locations countywide. This transformative initiative will equip the County with a customer-focused payment experience within a unified platform.

PaymentExpress benefits include seamless integration with County and State systems of record, increased digital payment adoption, faster checkout times, reduced e-check returns, and improved reconciliation, account balancing, and reporting.
