Pittsburgh, PA (April 18, 2012) — Grant Street Group, the leading provider of web-based tax collection software in Florida, announced today that Alachua County, Florida has contracted with Grant Street Group for a comprehensive suite of tax collection software. This includes TaxSys®, a state-of-the-art, web-based tax collection and billing system, plus integrated tax collection software: PaymentExpress™, a full service payment processing solution for credit cards, debit cards and e-checks; and LienAuction®, Grant Street’s tax certificate auction platform. Alachua County is the fourteenth County in Florida to select TaxSys since the system was launched in 2006. With the addition of Alachua County, TaxSys will collect over 43% of all property taxes in the State.
“After completing an intensive RFP process, which included two day demos of each system, we determined that TaxSys was the best solution,” said Von Fraser, Alachua County Tax Collector. “This was a major decision and the knowledge that TaxSys was designed specifically for Florida Tax Collectors and used in several counties for a number of years gives us a high level of confidence. Grant Street’s other fully integrated services like the online tax sale, online escrow tax processing, e-billing and credit card payments will help us realize huge operational efficiencies and will translate to improved services for our taxpayers,” continued Mr. Fraser.
The Alachua TaxSys conversion will take place over the next five months, with a scheduled completion date in September 2012.
The County’s next annual tax sale will be conducted using Grant Street’s LienAuction® tax certificate sale platform. The new auction website, www.BidAlachua.com, will be available to the public on May 2; the first sale will be held on June 1, 2012.
“Alachua County is a significant addition to Grant Street’s client base and we applaud the Tax Collector’s Office for their professionalism and diligence throughout the evaluation process,” said Ian Yorty, Grant Street Group’s Director of Florida Business Development. “Every aspect of the architecture and each line of code in TaxSys is based specifically on the Florida tax collection process — which lets us easily adapt and continuously enhance TaxSys for our clients’ needs,” continued Mr. Yorty.
